Volunteer programme Bengaluru Registration open

Music To Heal

Volunteer musicians perform short concert programmes for cancer patients, their families and the staff who care for them, on the auditorium stage inside the hospital.

Venue Kidwai Hospital auditorium
Programme 15 minutes to several hours
Who can apply Any instrument, senior amateurs and above.

Why we do this

Treatment takes the day. A concert gives back an hour of it.

Cancer care is long and repetitive, and a hospital is rarely quiet. Much of it is spent waiting, and bracing for the next appointment.

A live performance offers something a recording cannot: an hour that belongs to the audience rather than to the treatment schedule, in a room where nobody is a patient for the duration.

How it works

Three steps from your practice room to the stage.

No panel audition and no performance CV. A clip, an orientation, and a first set you do not play alone.

How we work in a hospital

Four standards we do not bend.

These are the terms the hospital agreed to, and the reason the programme continues.

We reply within about three working days.

The next programme needs musicians.

You do not need to be a professional. You need a short programme you know by heart and the judgement to play it well in a room that is not a concert hall.
